Starting from Scratch.

It is something a lot of us are doing this summer.  One of the areas that may entail for you and your family is designing the ideal landscape for your Houston area home.  The traditional view of landscape design is a detailed drawing specifying the location of each shrub and flower bed.  There are ways to begin this seemingly gargantuan project.

Here are some of the steps –

1.  Plan for future equipment access…lawn mowers, etc.
2.  Plan the focal points…gardens, etc.
3.  Don’t exceed your reach…financially that is.
4.  Be careful not to plan for too many curves…that’s overkill.
5.  Take nothing for granted…don’t just “work around” obstacles, perhaps remove them.

All of these steps and much more are why you call Laird Landscaping of Katy BEFORE your project begins.  Laird Landscaping has been planning, designing, and executing landscaping for the greater Houston area for two generations.  They were voted Katy Texas’ best landscaper more than once.  Let’s get on to the next stage call Laird at (281) 578-2795.

Illuminate Your Life.

When your property looks poorly lit from street-side it is disconcerting at best.  With summer in full swing, you’re probably spending most of your time enjoying the great outdoors.  That likely includes relaxing in your backyard, or hosting friends for a dinner.  Don’t let the fun stop once the sun goes down just because your outdoor lighting is nonexistent or inefficient!

Here are some tips for properly lighting your Houston area property –

1.  Include ambient, accent, and task lighting
2.  How much lighting do you want/need?
3.  Take measurements so that you purchase the right sizes
4.  Use subtle light for entertaining
5.  Keep security in mind

All of these points, and more are the things that Laird Landscaping helps you with.  Laird has been illuminating Katy and the greater Houston area for decades.  It is just one of the many services they offer at  Please give them a call before you start your new lighting project at (281) 578-2795.
