A Definition of Hardscaping.

First of all, what is the difference between hardscape and landscape?  Hardscaping is a term that is typically used by people to describe anything used in an outdoor space design that is made of natural materials, but not living materials such as trees, shrubs or other plants and grasses.  That could include things like concrete walls, retaining walls, stone pathways, etc.

Landscape is the term with which we are most familiar.  These are the terms that refer to all  softer living materials. Plants, turf or sod grasses, and organic ground covering materials of many types can be considered landscaping.  When hardscaping and landscaping meet in proper measure that is when the magic happens on your property!

To achieve that perfect balance of the two you should consult the Houston hardscape and landscape professionals at Laird Landscaping.  As you have been sitting in your backyard this summer you may have envisioned a different look.  Laird Landscaping will help bring that look to fruition.  Give them a call today at (281) 578-2795.

What Type of Grass Do You Want?

Wait a minute…is it legal in our state yet?  No…not that type of grass.  We are talking about the kind in our yard - the green stuff that we walk on all year.  We are truly blessed in the Houston area to be able to grow lush, green grass all year with our temperate climate.  It is something that we should not take lightly.

Keeping your lawn lush and green should NOT be taken lightly.  Do not be fooled into thinking that “grass is grass”.  There are several types that each have their own benefits, such as Bermuda which is drought tolerant and rapid growing.  Zoysia a fine textured grass that grows well in partial shade.  There is Ryegrass used during cold months.

An expert will help you decide which type of grass to plant in your Houston lawn and exactly when to plant it.  That expert has been Laird Landscaping.  For well over three decades they have been Katy and Houston’s landscaping professionals.  For all of your home and office landscaping needs call (281) 578-2795.
