Not Ann Arbor…An Arbor.

This is not Michigan…this is Texas.  We are referring to an arbor built on your Houston area property.   It is a vertical structure in a landscape or garden that can provide shelter, privacy, and shade.  It can be blended in with the landscape or it can separate different garden areas and direct traffic.  Your imagination can run with it.

An arbor can be attached to a fence, wall, or structure or it can be be freestanding.  While it is similar to a trellis, an arbor is a major structural element.  What are they made of?  Arbors can be constructed from wood or wrought iron typically.  Your new arbor consists of two or four posts with a simple slatted roof.

Look it up and visualize it on your property, then call Katy’s best Landscape design firm Laird Landscaping and have them come out to your Houston area property to turn that vision into reality.  Laird Landscaping has decades of experience installing arbors.  Call them today and enhance the value of your home at (281) 578-2795.

St. Patrick's Day in Houston

(Click the link above for more information)

"St. Patrick’s Day is approaching, a day when those who are Irish celebrate the patron saint of Ireland and those who aren’t technically Irish express their appreciation for all things Irish. Green is worn, green beer is had (for those 21+, of course) and sometimes you get pinched. If you're looking for a place to celebrate, you're in luck! Houston has something Irish themed to suit every taste."

How and When to Sow.

There is a time to sow grass seed and that time may be nigh in the Houston area.  Several factors come into play as to when to plant grass in Houston, including its environment, its intended location, and its intended use.  Your specific location and environment will suggest the type of grass to choose when planting grass in our region of Texas.

Where you plant is also a bit of a factor.  While some grasses must have full sun exposure others can tolerate a little or a lot of shade.  Be sure to choose a species suited for your particular location.  Now, for the when.   For optimal growth, it’s essential to get grass seed in the ground before the summer heat.

Around here, we know that time is now.  Laird Landscaping would like to help your Houston area home or business look as green and lush as possible all year long.  We are proud to have once again been named Katy’s best landscape design firm and will do everything we can in 2020 to show you why.  Call us at Laird Landscaping today at (281) 578-2795.
