Maintain your Edge.

That’s good advice for many of us.  As it pertains to landscaping and lawn maintenance it may refer to edging your garden bed.  This is the time of year in the Houston area where we have a distinct edge over our northern neighbors.  We have a moderate spring where we can prepare our gardens for the upcoming heat and humidity.

Edging your garden bed is an important task, and now is the time to address it.  Some people like artificial or stone edging in their garden beds while other area home owners do not.  By using an edging tool each spring, you keep the garden and lawn neatly in their place.  This should be done to create a bed edge to work your trimming tool which keeps the lines from migrating back and forth.

When it comes to bigger landscaping jobs around your Katy and Houston area home why not turn to the best?  Yes, we were voted Katy’s #1 landscaper and we do not take that honor lightly.  We want you to realize your landscaping dreams in 2018.  Let’s talk about it.  Give us a call this spring at (281) 578-2795.

The Difference between Hardscape and Landscape.

First of all, what do we mean by hardscape?  It is the non-living material in your landscape design such as rocks, bricks and pavers.  It also may be a pergola.  So, what the heck is that?  A pergola is an archway that consists of a framework covered with trained climbing or trailing plants.

These are the accent pieces that make your home the envy of all who are fortunate enough to visit it.  The word landscape with which we are more familiar refers to living things in your yard such as plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers.  Landscape and hardscape…they require two things…planning and execution.

Now that we have survived a tumultuous 2017 it is time to get serious about your home environment in 2018.  It all begins with a call to Laird Landscaping.  They have fought with you side-by-side through the challenges of Harvey and are standing by to transform your property into the centerpiece of your family’s activities.  Call them today at (281) 578-2795.
