Fountains of Youth.

Fountains have had a prominent role in landscape design for many years in the Houston area private homes.  Compared to other landscaping water features such as waterfalls and ponds, garden fountains may be easily constructed and offer a comparatively simple way to introduce the pleasing sensory effects of moving water to your outdoor environment.

Water features can be used to create both drama and tranquility in the garden.  For example, moving water such as waterfalls and fountains energizes the outdoor environment with sound and movement.  While still water, such as an aquatic garden or Koi pond, brings the feeling of quiet and calm to the surroundings.

If you have vision (or even if you don’t) we have the tools and the people to make it come to fruition.  Turn your Katy and Houston area property into something extraordinary.  Give us a call at Houston area landscape designer Laird Landscape and we will work together to realize your dream.  That phone number is (281) 278-2795.

To Prune or Not to Prune…That is the Question.

Pruning a tree can have a multitude of benefits.  The first and most important reason to prune and trim is keeping the people and objects around it safe.  A dead branch can fall from a tree at any time, endangering nearby people, buildings, and power lines.  Removing dangerous limbs and maintaining a safe tree is always the best course of action.

It’s also important to remember not to prune too much off of a tree.  Generally speaking, you want to prune the smallest amount you possibly can that achieves the desired outcome.  Never prune more than ¼ of the crown of a tree, as this is where most of its leaves are located and consequently where it gets most of its energy.

Pruning and tree trimming are part of the many services provided by your Houston area landscape design experts at Laird Landscaping.  From our home in Katy we go in all directions to satisfy the landscaping needs of our now third largest metropolitan area.  Call Laird Landscaping and have them come out to your property at (281) 278-2795.
