It’s Concrete…not a Diamond!

Concrete will always crack, it’s inevitable. At Laird Landscaping one of our primary focuses is the design of hardscapes.  That often entails ridged pavements such as poured concrete. Concrete joints are a relatively minor part of most projects, but can easily lead to poor planning and design if installed incorrectly.

To avoid unwanted cracks, we utilize a couple of concepts: control joints and expansion joints.  Control joints are installed in concrete to control cracks where they are desired.  They only crack at pre-planned locations.  Expansion joints expand and contract independently of one another without cracking.
